Getting Involved

The Cochrane Oral Health Group has over 624 members from 40 different countries around the world. We welcome new members from many different backgrounds and with a range of interests at any time.

There are several different ways in which you can participate in the work of the Cochrane Oral Health Group:

• Peer review our systematic reviews
• Contribute to the journal handsearching programme to identify trials

Prepare a systematic review

We would be happy to support you in preparing a systematic review on a topic of your choice, or we can suggest a topic based on our priority areas for reviews. Alternatively you could assist others in doing so as a co-author.

Register as a peer reviewer

All Oral Health Group protocols and reviews are sent to experts in the field for pre-publication peer review.

Journal handsearching programme

An important element of Cochrane reviews is that they set out to include all relevant studies, whether published or not, in any language. For complete identification of published reports, there appears to be no alternative to a page-by-page search of the literature. The Group co-ordinates handsearching of dental journals and conference proceedings by volunteers.

Offer consumer input

All Oral Health Group protocols and reviews are sent to consumers for comments, to help ensure that they are relevant and clear to those affected by the condition covered in the review, or their carers or family members. Consumers also suggest questions for review.
